Mga Katutubo at Katutubong Dunong: Pahalagahan, Pangalagaan at Parangalan

The 2024 National Indigenous Peoples Month, with the theme "Mga Katutubo at Katutubong Dunong: Pahalagahan, Pangalagaan at Parangalan" (Valuing, Nurturing, and Honoring Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous Knowledge), promotes and protects Indigenous Peoples' rights and culture by raising awareness and fostering respect for their heritage.

It highlights the importance of the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA), which safeguards their rights to land, self-governance, and cultural preservation. The observance also addresses challenges like marginalization and land threats, encouraging collaboration to empower Indigenous communities.  Through cultural events and education, it honors Indigenous Peoples’ contributions to the nation’s identity and ensures their traditions and wisdom are preserved for future generations.
